To be quite honest I bought it just for the phone holder part. I have a phone holder in my car which seemed to be identical to this holder, but it was split. I have therefore taken the phone holder bit and put it onto the windscreen sucker part of my existing car phone holder.
It is the the only holder I can find that takes my phone complete with its side opening case - So VERY pleased that I was able to adapt it accordingly.

I haven't yet tried it on a bike! It was going to go on a bike mounted on a turbo trainer, I just haven't got round to it. The grip arrangement for a phone fits my Galaxy S8, and the handle bar clip also looks good. I'll get it mounted one day!

Your advert shows the holder in a vertical position on a bike. I secured the holder to a bike and ensured my phone was firmly placed in the holder. Sadly, the phone dropped out of the holder after riding about a mile on a tarmac road surface. The product needs a support to stop a phone dropping out. It appears to work ok with the phone in a horizontal position.

It looked very flimsy and lightweight when I first opened it up. I have an iPhone XR in a case and when trying it out before mounting on the bike I wondered if it was strong enough.
I must admit I got a bit heavy handed with it at first and managed to disrupt the clamp mechanism. I fixed it with a bit of fiddling and then realised that I should press the clamp release and let it open slowly of own accord!
After this it’s been fine. I think it works better if the phone doesn’t have a case but so far so good.

But when trevlling over moderatly bumpy groung the ipone wobbles rather more than I like.
not sure I whould like to use it weih this woble for long., maybe fix the orintaion and glue the spring sssy in place.
